The music of past centuries can provide a window into the thoughts, feelings and experiences of peoples of varied times and places. And in general, repertoire that has withstood the test of time has a natural appeal to students of all ages. From the very first lessons, students learn repertoire of the highest quality that is firmly grounded in history. Below is a collection of music of the various musical traditions of the Western World, grouped by historical period, from the volumes that I often use, and with video examples from my students. In each section the music progresses through the various levels of difficulty from beginning to advanced. (To view videos of beginning pieces played by my students, click here.)
